A 17-year-old Red Deer male was arrested for breaking into a home in Eastview.

RCMP were called shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, after the victim returned home to discover that someone had smashed a rear window and stolen a number of items. She immediately reviewed her security cameras and then identified the suspect as he continued to move through the neighbourhood.

RCMP arrested the suspect without incident, and the stolen items were returned to their owner.

The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces a charge of breaking and entering to commit an offence. The youth was also wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with a previous sentence. He was to appear Wednesday in Red Deer provincial court.
