Rimbey RCMP charge six for variety of crimes

Four men and two women now facing charges

RCMP have charged six people in relation to a number of recent property crimes in Rimbey.

Four of the suspects — three men and a woman — were arrested in Leduc and Blackfalds.

Rimbey RCMP said on Nov. 10 they investigated a report of theft of a vehicle. A citizen trying to stop the theft had jumped into the box of a truck in order to stop the suspects. The citizen jumped out of the truck when it was obvious that the male suspect was not going to stop. As a result, a 21-year-old man is facing several charges including possession of property obtained by crime.

Also charged are three people ages 23, 25 and 29.

The 29-year-old faces charges of operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.

He is also charged in relation to a break-in at the Bluffton Community Centre, a stolen vehicle and travel trailer, another break and enter and theft of a truck from Rimbey Implements, and an incident in Leduc. He remains in custody.

Rimbey RCMP said they have made two other arrests this month of a man and woman during a traffic stop. Charges involved a stolen vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.
