Jay Ingram, a popular science broadcaster and writer, will be speaking in Red Deer at a free public lecture about Alzheimer’s disease on Tuesday.

Jay Ingram, a popular science broadcaster and writer, will be speaking in Red Deer at a free public lecture about Alzheimer’s disease on Tuesday.

Ingram was co-host of Discovery Channel’s science show, Daily Planet for 16 years. From 1979 to 1992, Ingram hosted CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks. For 10 years, he also wrote articles for the children’s publication Owl Magazine. He wrote a weekly science column for the Toronto Star for 12 years, and is currently a columnist for Canadian Wildlife magazine.

His lecture, The Alzheimer’s Mystery, is at 7 p.m. in Room 2602 at Red Deer College. Questions and answers and refreshments will follow.

His visit is sponsored by the Alzheimer Society and the Alberta Prion Research Institute.
