A serial robber was recently sentenced to 54 months in prison.
Aaron Mays, 25, of Sylvan Lake, was convicted of five counts of robbery and wearing a disguise in the commission of an offence.
Mays was arrested by RCMP responding to complaints of a robbery in at Sylvan Lake’s Bayshore Market on Jan. 11. Acting on witness descriptions, police pulled over a suspect vehicle and arrested the occupant.
Evidence found in the vehicle linked Mays to a number of other robberies in town, mostly at liquor stores, in the weeks preceding.
Mays had been facing 16 charges in all. The Crown withdrew the remaining counts.
