A Sylvan Lake man was killed in northern Alberta in a motorcycle crash.

Fox Creek RCMP, Alberta Emergency Services and Valleyview Fire were called to a collision near the hamlet of Little Smoky on Hwy 43, about 310 kms northwest of Edmonton.

Police said a 56-year-old male from Sylvan Lake was travelling northbound on Hwy 43 when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the Little Smoky River bridge.

Efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

Police are considering all possible contributing factors in the collision and it remains under investigation.
