Red Deer RCMP are looking for suspects after three men received non-life-threatening stab wounds outside a downtown bar early Saturday morning.

RCMP said they responded to a report shortly after 2 a.m. that several men had been stabbed after an altercation on Gaetz Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets.

RCMP determined that a group of four men were assaulted in the parking lot of a downtown bar located at 46th Street and Gaetz Avenue after leaving that establishment. Three were treated by Red Deer EMS on scene for non-life-threatening stab wounds and a fourth man was assaulted but not stabbed. The stabbing victims were transported to hospital where they were deemed to be in stable condition.

Red Deer RCMP have conducted a number of witness interviews, searched the area and reviewed video surveillance from businesses in the area. The victims reported being attacked by four or more suspects who were not known to them.

One suspect as a Caucasian man, approximately 1.85 metres (6 feet 1 inch) tall, with a skinny build, wearing a light-coloured hoodie or track suit. He was seen running east on 47th Street after the altercation.

The victims were not able to provide police with any further descriptions of suspects.

RCMP continue to investigate and are asking witnesses who may have seen the altercation to contact police.
