True Patriot Love Foundation barbecue

In support of military families

True Patriot Love Foundation barbecue fundraiser will be held Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Sobeys Gaetz South.

As a national charity, True Patriot Love supports military families, funds community-based programs and contributes to the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research.

The True Patriot Love Scotiabank Expedition: BEST OF CANADA wants to raise $2.5 million for the True Patriot Love fund for ill and injured veterans.

BEST OF CANADA series will bring together a team of currently serving members or veterans with business and community leaders to take on a unique physical challenge.

Red Deer area resident Denise Laurin, who served with the Canadian military for 25 years, is participating in the series and wants to raise $2,500 toward the fund.
