Two people facing drug trafficking charges in Olds

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges in Olds after police got a call about suspicious activity outside the town’s swimming pool.

RCMP said in a Monday news release they went to the swimming pool’s parking lot and did a traffic stop on a vehicle.

Police alleged that during the stop a small amount of drugs was seen. The lone 32-year-old female driver was arrested. After further investigation, a 37-year-old woman was arrested and a home in Olds searched. Marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Both suspects have been charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking as well as a single count of possession of the proceeds of crime.
