SLAVE LAKE, Alta. — A 17-year old boy who fell off a highway bridge into the Athabasca River has been found dead.

In early May, Slave Lake RCMP responded to a report that a person fell into the river.

A search was carried out the next day using boats, helicopters, drones and search teams along the banks of the river.

They weren’t able to find him and called off the search.

RCMP say the boy’s body has now been recovered and no foul play is suspected.

His name has not been released by police.
