ACHESON 1943- 2008 Mr. Dwight Acheson, beloved husband of Yolande Acheson of Red Deer passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital Center on Monday, April 7, 2008, at the age of 64. Dwight was born September 14, 1943 in Somerset, Manitoba and was married in 1965 to Yolande. He served in the Canadian Air Force for 21 years and upon retirement settled his family in Red Deer, where he had a second career at Dow Chemicals. Dwight belonged to the Union of Catholic Apostolate and as such served the family of St. Mary's parish as a leader in Music Ministry, Scripture Study, Marriage Preparation, and Youth Ministry. He was also instrumental in the organization of many World Youth Day pilgrimages. Dwight showed his passion for life and love by living every moment to the fullest. During his time, Dwight touched many lives by bringing the spirit of the living God with him wherever he went; his spirit continues to shine through his family and friends. Dwight is survived by his three loving children, Shawn (Sheralyn) of Chennai, India, Rachel of Red Deer, Avery of Red Deer, his sisters Sheila of New York City, Doreen (Barrie) Harrison of Drayton Valley, a brother Bill (Isabel) of Somerset, Manitoba, a sister Gladys (Deb) Wyatt of Mafeking, Manitoba, and two grandchildren Mcartney and Leroy. He was predeceased by one son Curtis in 1987, an infant daughter in 1967, brothers Dudley and Bert, and parents; Herb and Emily. A Prayer Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held by the family at a later date.
