HEGGE After a courageous 7 year battle with cancer, Leo Hegge went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2005, at the age of 81 years. Leo was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on March 24, 1924, and joined the R.C.A.F. at the age of 21 where he met and married Kathleen. Together, beginning their adventure in Lethbridge, they raised their 6 children as they traveled across Canada and back with the Armed Forces, eventually retiring in Calgary in 1975. Leo is lovingly remembered by his 3 sons, Calvin (Luce), Doug (Shirlee), Peter, and his 3 daughters, Donna Hegge, Diane Mullen and Jane (Ron) Bresnahan, as well as his 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Adam, Jennifer, Ben, Heidi, Alison, Amy, Melanie, Ryan, Amanda and 2 great granddaughters, Hailey and Tasia. Leo was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his gentle manner, positive outlook on life and his great sense of humor. A celebration of Leo’s life will be held at the Deer Park Alliance Church (2960 – 39 Street, Red Deer) on Thursday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m. Tributes may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2).
