Agnes ANDERSON

ANDERSON Agnes Anderson passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on December 11, 2005. She was born on June 15, 1907 at Red Deer, the youngest child of Johan and Mathilda Anderson. Agnes grew up in the Shady Nook district, attended high school in Red Deer and received her teacher’s certificate at Camrose Normal School. She taught at schools throughout Central and Southern Alberta, the Okanagan Adventist Academy in B.C., Highschool and Elementary at C.U.C., Lacombe and Leveland School, Beiseker. Agnes retired to Red Deer in the 1970’s but still did some substitute teaching at River Glen and also worked for A.A.D.A.C. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Temperance Union and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Agnes was a great gardener, especially growing beautiful roses. She shared her talents with many, baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes. At Christmas she would make pounds of candy for family and friends. Agnes loved to travel, visiting family in Oregon, touring Europe and finding special relatives in Sweden. Agnes is survived by numerous family in Canada, the United States and Sweden. She was predeceased by her parents, Johan and Mathilda Anderson and her siblings; Bertha (John) Beshears, Esther (John) Hoffman, Arthur, Olga (John) Johanson, Helga (Ragnar) Mannerfeldt, Carl (Florence), Philip (Flossie) and Theodor (Eva). A private, family Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a public Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sylvan Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church (4607 – 47 Avenue, Sylvan Lake).
