It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith (Alice) Heinsen on January 07, 2005 after a long struggle with Lewy Body Disease, at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Leonard Heinsen; her daughter and children, Maureen (Garry) Horton, Dana Nolette, Lisa Warwick, Wade (Dolly) Horton, Cory (Lorena) Horton; her son and children, Dwayne (Sandy) Heinsen, Leslie (Sean Manz), Janis (Ryan) Smith; and nine great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sisters; Joan Vandaele, Marian (Don) Bain, Iris (Bill) Eluik; her brother, Allan (Bertha) Thorlakson and many nephews, nieces and friends. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Bjorn Thorlakson; brothers, Gudbjorn, Mundi, Steini; sisters, Thora Shanks and Dorothy Zimmerman; and precious grandson, Curtis Aaron Heinsen. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 - 49 Ave. Innisfail, Alberta on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Leanne Hall officiating. A private internment will take place prior to the memorial service in the Innisfail Cemetery. If so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, 220, 2323 - 32nd Ave NE, Calgary, AB. T2E 6Z3 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB. T4N 1X2.
