ALICE SYBIL (EVE) SWANSON

Oct. 26, 1921 - Mar. 24, 2017


Alice passed away peacefully with her family by her side. The loving wife to Cec Swanson for 68 years, Alice was born in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Vancouver as a young teenager. In 1944, she moved to Calgary due to severe asthma attacks. It is in Calgary where Alice and Cec met and in 1948 were married. Alice was employed at Eaton Department Store until moving to Peace River in 1961 and there managed a ladies clothing store. Alice and Cec moved to Red Deer in September 1971 and became members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #35.

Remaining to honour her life and cherish her memory are, Husband Cecil, Son Gary Swanson, Daughter Debbie (Terry) King; grandsons Keith (Justine) King of Red Deer, Blair King of Blackfalds; great grandchildren Travis, Breanne, Jessica, Avery, Carson, Morgan and Ethan; special nephew Rick (Becky) Parton and family; special family Rene King, Shannon and Michael Huzuka; a dear friend Helen Andrew; numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Alice was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Parton, nephew Randy Parton and niece Wendy Parton.

Alice wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Hopfner and staff, Dr. R. Donnelly, the Heart Clinic, the caring and thoughtful nurses on Unit 23, managers and staff of Victoria Park Retirement Home.
