ANDERSON, Annie Annie Evelyn Louise (nee Bigelow)

Evelyn died peacefully August 25, 2004 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in her 94th year. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Weston in 1976 and by her parents, a brother and two sisters. She is survived by sons Keith (Phyllis) of Sylvan Lake, Ted (Suzanne) of Kelowna B.C. and Bruce (Carol) of Lethbridge, sisters-in-law Catherine Bigelow of Drumheller and Margaret Longmate of Grande Prairie, grandchildren Brian and Heather, Jennifer and Jane, and Jessica, great grandchildren Jessica and Nigel, Adam, Drew and Beth, and Abigail, together with several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born in Vancouver and spent most of her early years in Delia, Alberta. A graduate (dietician) of the University of Manitoba, she worked with distinction at the Drumheller Hospital for several years before marrying Weston and beginning an active career of some sixty six years as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Evelyn and Weston moved to Red Deer in 1945 where they resided throughout the balance of their lives. By Evelyn's specific request, only a very private family gathering will take place following cremation, with no formal funeral or memorial service being held. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the David Thompson Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. Eventide Funeral Chapel of Red Deer is providing arrangements.
