BIRSE, Archie 1917 Calgary-2006 Wetaskiwin After a long, fulfilling life, Archie Birse died peacefully on Sept. 28, 2006, remembered by his family with much love and gratitude: Betty, his wife of 58 years; children Bill (Sandee), Peggy, Ian (Laura Kavanagh); grandchildren Ryan (Tara) & Willow BIRSE; Christopher (Mercy), Kevin (Casey Kearns), & Colin LOUGH; great- grandchildren Tyler & Matthew Birse and Hayden & Sean Lough, and a large extended family, including brother Bill (Rosemary), sister Helen BROOKS, and many nieces and nephews and their families. As a United Church minister, Archie served many congregations throughout BC and Alberta and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archie's life will be celebrated Sunday, October 22 at First United Church, 5115-51 Ave, Wetaskiwin, AB, at 2 pm, preceded by a hymn sing at 1:30 pm, as people gather. Those who wish may donate to the Bissell Centre, 10527-96 St. Edmonton, AB, T5H 2H6, honouring Archie's passion for those whose lives were more difficult than his own, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
