BAJEMA Mrs. Gertie (Prins) Bajema August 9, 1920 - July 5, 2004 When you pass through the water, I will be with you, Fear not, for I have redeemed you...you are mine. Isaiah 43:2 Gertie Bajema went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2004. Our mom was born in the Netherlands on August 9, 1920. She immigrated to Canada in 1936 with her family. They settled in Lacombe. There she met and married our dad in 1940. They raised eight children while they farmed in the Gull Lake area. They retired from farming in 1979 and moved into Lacombe. She leaves to mourn her children; James (Janet) Bajema, Evelyn (Paul) Huisman, Rita Epple, Marion (John) Van Berkel, Gerald (Shirley) Bajema, Rose (David) Nydam, Robert (Mary) Bajema, Edward (Janice) Bajema. She also leaves to mourn 29 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, one sister Mary (Henk) Vos, a sister-in-law Tena Prins, and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Otto in 1996, an infant son John William in 1958, a son-in-law Bruce Epple, 3 brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held from Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Neil De Koning officiating. Interment will follow in the Woody Nook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CRWRC or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Suite 212, 4711 - 51 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 6H8.
