BAKKER Mrs. Wilhelmina Bakker of Lacombe passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on February 5, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Willy, as she was lovingly called, was born in Amsterdam, Holland on May 6, 1912 and moved to Canada with her husband, George, and their children in September, 1952. She and George retired in Lacombe after living in many locations in Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana, USA. Her loving husband, George, passed away eight years ago. She is survived by one son John (Anita) Bakker of Westbank, B.C.; two daughters Lydia (Greg) Deiss of Cottonwood, Idaho and Ivy (Randy) Chevalier of Buckley, Washington; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Janelle (Sharpe) and Curtis Bakker, Amanda (Williams) and Joshua Deiss, Kristi and Kayla Chevalier. Funeral Services will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Woody Nook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Alberta, #134, 1935-32 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7C8. The family would like to thank Trudy Salomons and her family for their constant support and the staff of the Red Deer Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Willy.
