BALL July 6, 1918 - August 3, 2006 George Ernest Ball passed away peacefully with his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty by his side at the age of 88 years on Thursday morning. Ernest was born on the family homestead which has been in the family since 1892. He and Betty were married July 26, 1951 at Blackfalds United Church. This was the first marriage in over 50 years in this church. Ernest raised his own children and saw all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoy the place he loved the most, "The Farm". Ernest loved his family, church and was an avid scout leader for 21 years. He will be sorrowfully missed by everyone. Ernest was predeceased by his mother, father,4 siblings, three infant grandchildren, he is survived by his wife Betty and seven children, Charlie (Janet) Ball, Elaine (Kerry) Bloomer, Brenda (Terry) Walker, Sharon "Shaz" (Doug) Ball, Rod (Dixie) Ball, Darrell (Shelly) Ball, Angy (Pat "Burger") Spiller. Ernest is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren whom he loved each and everyone dearly, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the staff and George of the Lacombe Hospital Extended Care Unit. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Occupational Therapy in the Lacombe Hospital 5430 - 47 Ave. Lacombe, AB T4L 1G8 or the Blackfalds United Church. Funeral services will be held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel Lacombe on Tuesday August 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium.
