PHILIPS Beatrice Ann Philips went to be with her Lord at Bethany Sylvan Lake, June 19, 2008 at the age of 84 years. She was born on the family farm at Evarts on June 14, 1924. She was the second child of David and Ada McNeil. Her early years on the farm were very dear to her and made her the mother, grandmother and neighbor that we all cherished and loved so dearly. After attending high school in Eckville, she worked at the CIBC in Sylvan Lake. On January 25,1947 she married Willard Philips and they began their journey together. They farmed in the Eckville area and attended church at Benalto Baptist where she was secretary-treasurer for many years. Her dedication and her faith in God could be seen in everything she did. She is survived by one son Keith (Doris) Philips of Eckville, one sister Ethel Thornton of Calgary, one brother Lloyd McNeil (Evelyn) of Red Deer. She is also remembered and dearly loved by her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Willard, one son David, both in 1983, brother-in-law Moe Thornton and her parents David and Ada McNeil. A public viewing will take place at the Sylvan Lake Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 25th at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at the Benalto Baptist Church on Thursday June 26th at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bob Roth and Pastor David Burg officiating. Interment will follow at the Hespero Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Beatrice's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
