BEN RODER

February 6, 2006

RODER, BEN JUNE 1, 1952 - JANUARY 20, 2006. It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Ben Roder of Red Deer. He will be sadly missed by his wife, soulmate & best friend Lynnette (nee Whitney) of 27 years. Ben was a man of deep compassion always willing to help anyone in need. His thirst for knowledge took him down many roads and his entrepreneurial spirit allowed him to apply that knowledge in many ways. Over his lifetime, Ben was a constant student and teacher. He taught and applied body language in everything he did. He took nurse's training as a young man, had his Dr. of Acupuncture degree, sold ICI Real Estate for 13 years, held licenses and conducted business in Electrostatic painting, insulation, paint manufacturing & securities. He had numerous licenses in trades. At the time of his passing he was Site Superintendent for Avalon Homes. He loved woodworking, gardening & cooking. Ben possessed an adventurous spirit, a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humour that left you reeling with laughter. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family of Strathroy, Ont., and St. Antonio, Texas and his many extended family members in Red Deer. An Open House celebration of Ben's life will be held at Bell Manor Hall, 54 Bell Street (Alley) on Saturday, February 4th, from 1 - 4 p.m.
