Betty HARPER

HARPER Betty Jane Harper passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the age of 71. Betty was born at Edam, Saskatchewan on July 27, 1936. She moved from Edam to Rocky Mountain House on October 1, 1946. She went to grade school at Everdell, then moved into town, and moved in with Mrs. Chambers to finish her high school. She worked part time at the Palace Cafe, and then rented a small house in town for 5-6 years. She married George Harper in 1957, moved to Fort St. John and returned to Rocky a few years later. They started a company called Keno Construction. Betty was very involved in the Oilwives, bowling, as a hockey mom. She loved the outdoors. Many trips with her kids were made to Ram River Falls, camping, and Kootenay Plains. Betty loved to celebrate her children's Birthdays. She was a second mom to many of her kid's friends. She loved spending time with grandchildren: Morgan, Cameron, Brittany, Gregory, Joseph, Robbie, Ashley and Donni and her friends and family. Betty leaves to mourn her daughter, Diana (Peter), her sons, Jim (Heather) and Larry (Crystal); her brothers, Clarence (Phyllis), Dwight (Loraine), Bill (Evette); sisters, Bernice, Vera (Jack), Alice, Loretta and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will also be sadly missed by Mona Thompson and Lenord Butts. Her brothers Harold and Mel predeceased Betty. We all hold a very special memory of her. The Funeral Service for the late Betty Harper will be held from the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, Rocky Mountain House on Thursday, November 23 at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Gary MacDonald celebrant. Cremation will follow at the Rocky Mountain Crematorium. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.
