BILLEY Dr. Mona Anne 1955 - 2007 Dr. Mona Anne Billey of Red Deer gracefully passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. Mona was born on May 9, 1955 in Smoky Lake, AB, the youngest of four children. At the age of twelve she moved to Pincher Creek where she lived until she went to Edmonton to pursue her post secondary education. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree followed by a Dentistry Degree from the University of Alberta before coming to Red Deer in 1980 to begin her practice. Mona married Thor Thordarson in 1980 and they raised four children. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved her family. She also loved being outdoors, gardening, reading, listening to music, going to hockey games, and spending time on the farm at Smoky Lake. Mona was predeceased by her mother Mary, father Alex, and brothers, Walter and Albert. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Thor and her four children: Nyja (George), Sando, Kara, and Layla. Her memory will also be cherished by her sister, Pauline (Ron) Zukiwsky and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Billey, Gloria Billey and Ellen Ingolfsson, as well as brother-in-law, Marino (Svana) Sveinsson. Mona was dearly loved by her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as by countless friends, colleagues and patients. A Public Memorial Service will be held at CrossRoads Church, 38105 Rge. Rd. 275, Red Deer on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Edwand Church Cemetery on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2.
