BJARNASON EDNA FLORENCE October 17, 1939 Passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family on May 29, 2006 at the young age of 66 years at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband David Bjarnason of Innisfail, 5 daughters, Jolene Bjarnason (Grant) of Innisfail, Rosalie Paliwoda (Derryll) of Redcliffe, Cheryl Laird (Mike) of Innisfail, Loretta Matthews (Mike) of Rimbey, Lois Muddle (Chris) of Red Deer; Fourteen grandchildren, Bobbi, Jamie (Blake), Billy (Donna), David, Jerilyn (Dave), Tyson (Brianne), Ryan, Jaret, Amanda, Ryley, Emily Spencer, Cort & Kaden; two great-grandchildren Shaylyn and Wyatt; two sisters Marg Edgar and Janet Wicks, numerous nieces and nephews and all the people whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by one daughter, Wendy Lynn, parents Sam and Flo Leighton, two sisters and one brother. Edna worked tirelessly side by side with Dave, her husband of almost 49 years, driving truck and restoring antique tractors. She could always be counted on to provide a shoulder, meal, or a cup of coffee. She had a special way of making every grandchild feel like a prince or princess whether she was painting a wagon or baking cookies with them. A memorial service celebrating Edna's life will be held at the Innsifail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 Auditorium on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, or donors choice.
