WOOD Bob "Cooney" Wood of Benalto passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 77 years. Bob was always involved in hockey whether he was playing in Europe for the Brighton Tigers, coaching the minor hockey league or playing in the old timer's hockey league. He loved the outdoors especially cross country skiing, hiking, and climbing. He was also a very good artist and enjoyed drawing. Bob's career was with the Provincial and Federal Parks in Western Canada. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Elsie Krasman, one son, Bill Wood of Benalto, and three daughters; Jan (Rob) Lewis of Benalto, Leslie (Frank) Wood of Exshaw and Jenny (Brad) Wood of Exshaw. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Sheri (Don), Garrett, David, Evan, Mike, Clayton, and Devyn, two great grandchildren; Shayla and Madison, as well as one brother, Tom (Verlie) Wood of Calgary. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Pamela, and numerous brothers and sisters. At Bob's request, a Funeral Service will not be held.
