BODWELL 1927 - 2006 Mr. Donald Bodwell, beloved husband of Mrs. Gail Bodwell of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home, Red Deer on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Donald was born on December 9, 1927, the eldest son of Lella and Douglas Bodwell. He lived all his life in Red Deer, spending several years in the Construction Industry building homes, barns and schools. Donald then worked as a Superintendent for the Department of Public Works, after which he followed his dream and started building for himself and his family. He built several duplexes and apartment buildings. One of his greater pleasures was the complete construction of his motorhome which saw many camping trips by Donald, Gail and family. Donald's greatest joy and passion in his life was his family and helping others. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Gail, his wife of thirty-four years, his only son, David (Liane) of Vancouver, British Columbia, daughters, Yvonne Matthes of Orlando, Florida, Dianne (Henry) Wyntjes of Red Deer, Rhonda (Lyndon) Fransoo of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Karen Bodwell of Red Deer, Allona (Donnell) Stendie of Red Deer, twelve grandchildren and five great grand- children. He will also be sadly missed by two brothers, Gordon (Beth), Joe (Darlene), three sisters, Carol (Albert) McKay, Betty Smith (Dale), Shirley (Mac) Parcels and sister-in-law, Barb Bodwell. Donald was predeceased by his parents, Doug and Lella and brothers, Howard, Jack and brother-in-law, Orville Smith. A Public Memorial Service will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, in place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Donald's honour may be made directly to a Charity of the donor's choice.
