BRIDGE Mr. Gordon Bridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Mary Bridge of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Rimbey Extended Long Term Care Facility, Rimbey, Alberta on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the age of 88 years. Gordon was born on January 7, 1918 at Lions Head, Ontario. He served his country in World War II as a Lance Corporal ambulance driver between 1939 and 1945. Gordon was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a good friend. A kid at heart, Gordon doted over his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gordon loved the farm life and had a heart of gold. When it came to the animals, he loved them all, horses, cats, dogs and whether it was feeding the deer, birds, squirrels or any creature - not a one went without food on Gordon's farm. Gordon has left us a great legacy and we will cherish our memories of him in our hearts forever. Gordon leaves to mourn his loss, his loving children, Garry (Cheryl) Bridge of Edmonton, Alberta, Randy (Joann) Bridge of Sylvan Lake, Patti (Brian) Phillips of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, his treasured grandchildren, Jeremy Bridge, Danielle (Pat) Calon and Desiree Bridge; Natalie (Jason) Gamble, Jamie (Raoul) Matagora and Justin Phillips and his five great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Elmer Bridge and sister, Ruby Beebe, both of Coronation, Alberta, as well as numerous other extended family members and dear friends. Gordon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary in 2005, a son, Norman and two infant daughters, Georgina and Maureen. All are welcome to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Funeral Service. A Public Funeral Service will be held at the Talbot Hall, Coronation, Alberta on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery, Coronation, Alberta.
