BRUIN February 22, 1922 – January 18, 2007 Mrs. Ariea Bruin, beloved wife of Reyer Cor Bruin passed away on January 18, 2007 following a brave and lengthy struggle with her health at the age of 84 years. Ariea was born on February 22, 1922 in Holland where she met and married her husband, Cor. Cor and Ariea, along with their two young children, Herman and Anne moved to Edmonton in 1957. When Cor and Ariea came to Canada, they discovered that the G.W.G. Factory in Edmonton helped support young immigrant families through employment, so that is where Ariea took a job. The family moved to Red Deer in 1962. Cor and Ariea were the Founders of Bruin's Plumbing Ltd., and Ariea took great pride in the friendly little bear that everyone has come to recognize, as she was the person responsible for creating him. Ariea worked alongside Cor in this family plumbing business, retiring in 1984. Ariea's favourite times were holidays and any other special occasions that gathered their large family together to enjoy each other's company. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Ariea leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband Cor, her two children Herman (Carol), Anne Pisesky, her seven grandchildren: Corinna (Roger), Troy (Diane), Marty (Catherine), Rebecca (Chuck), Heidi (Jody), Shayne (Gail), and her twenty great-grandchildren: Amanda (Steve), Rachelle, Cassandra, Kandace, Kristen, Ryan, Logan, Jeff, Brodie, Colby, Morgann, Nolan, Cindy (Jessie), Kenisha, Layton, Jessy, Austyn, Shayna, Andrea, and one great-great-granddaughter, Madyson, as well as a large extended family in Holland. Ariea was predeceased by her grandson, Cameron and son-in-law George. Those wishing to pay their respects can do so from Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, AB on the evening of Sunday, January 28th, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from the First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, AB on Monday, January 29th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Bomhof officiating.
