Caroline SCHWARTZ

June 7, 2007

SCHWARTZ Caroline Violet (Dyck) Schwartz of Innisfail went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 29, 2007 at the age of 71, after a courageous battle with ALS. Caroline was born on July 3, 1935 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan to Margaret and Bill Dyck, the second of three daughters. There she was educated and grew into a lovely young woman. She received the Lord as her personal savior at the age of sixteen and from then on her life became a living testimony. She was an encouragement to many. After high school she was employed at the Metropolitan store in the accounting department. Caroline met her soul mate, Clarence, on a blind date arranged by mutual friends in 1953. He swept her off her feet and they were married on June 16, 1954. One of her greatest joys was being a Mom to their two children. They moved to Wetaskiwin in 1961 and then Drumheller. She became a "stellar" Avon representative winning many friends and awards over eleven years. Caroline also was the manager of Ollie's Rock and Fossil Shop and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. After 23 years Caroline and Clarence moved to Innisfail where Caroline worked at the Saan store. She so loved her home and friends. Her many interests included handicrafts of any kind, gardening and entertaining. Caroline was also known for her lucrative garage sales. She loved to travel and some of her favorite destinations were Hawaii, Arizona, Penticton, and Couer' D Lane. Her pride and joy were her four grandchildren whom she spoiled on a regular basis. Caroline was actively involved in her local church, ladies group and always finding ways to help others. Her home was a favorite gathering place for family and friends. Serving her Lord, Clarence and her family was her calling. Caroline is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Clarence of Innisfail; daughter Deborah Lavery; son in law Dann; grandson Andrew and wife Sandra; granddaughter Heather; son Bryon Schwartz; daughter in law Ilze; granddaughter Amy and grandson Steven; sister Marg Dyck and brother in law John; sister Shirley Slopianka and brother in law Herb; brother in law Cecil Schwartz and wife Shirley and several nieces and nephews. Caroline was predeceased by parents Margaret and Bill and nephew Darren Slopianka.
