CASTOR 1940- 2008 Mr. Donald John "Don" Castor, beloved husband to Darlene for 46 years of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, May 15 2008 at the age of 68 years. Don was born on May 2, 1940 at Edmonton, Alberta. After his schooling in Edmonton he became a member of the Loyal Edmonton Eddies of the Army Cadets in his youth and enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1958 at Calgary. Don was posted in many places through out his career. He was especially proud of his tours with the UN Peacekeepers in Egypt, his two tours in Germany and his tour in Churchill, Manitoba. After retiring in 1984, Don worked at the Bower Mall in the maintenance department. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his generosity, his stubborn nature and the love he had for his family and friends. Don is survived by his loving wife Darlene Castor, his loving daughter, Brenda-Mae Castor, his loving sons, Ian (Shelley) Castor and their daughter; Paul Castor (Leslie Provost) and his children, Tammyka, Dee-Jay, Ashlee (daughter October-Rose) and two step-sisters, Connie Taylor and her family and Karen Morris and her family. He was predeceased by his parents, Ab and Alma Castor and a stepfather, Wayne Emes. A Memorial Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium.
