Claude MEYER

MEYER Claude Meyer of Red Deer County passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on May 6, 2006 at the age of 82 years. Claude was born in Coronation on April 17, 1924 to Peter and Lena Meyer. On December 26, 1944 he married Hilda Barbour in Moncton, New Brunswick and in February 1946 they moved to Coronation where Claude began working for CPR. They then moved to Calgary where Claude continued to work for CPR for all of his working years and retired in 1984. After retirement they returned to Coronation and then eventually moved to Red Deer. During retirement Claude and Hilda enjoyed fishing and camping in their RV. Claude was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Elks Club. Claude will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Scott (Elsie) Meyer of Coronation, Sister-in-law, Winnie Cole of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Hilda in 2004 and his brother Basil Meyer, 1971. Those wishing to pay their respects can do so at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Friday, May 12, 2006 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Don Stein officiating.
