CUMMINS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bessie Marjorie Cummins (nee Cook).After a long and courageous battle with Cancer, Bessie passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at the Innisfail Health Care Center with her family by her side. Bessie was born in Cochrane, Alberta on September 2, 1923 to William and Grace Cook. She met Clifford Cummins while teaching at May City and they were married on August 16, 1947. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Bessie enjoyed her career as a teacher and taught for many years at John Wilson Elementary School in Innisfail retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Royal Purple in Olds and enjoyed that very much. Her greatest pleasures came from family, gardening, baking, camping and traveling. Bessie especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was very proud of their accomplishments and couldn't wait to hear about them. Bessie is survived by her loving husband, Cliff, sons, Stan Cummins (Janice), Brian Cummins (Bonnie), her grandchildren Patti Cummins (Colin Smith), Lane Cummins (Katherina), Jill Amundson (Darwin), Amy Ramsey (Troy). She will be sadly missed by seven great-grandchildren, Cade, Presley, Jeslyn, Hope, Brynn, Jase and Chase. Also left to mourn her passing are five brothers-in-law and their families, Norman Cummins (Anne),Glen Cummins (Kay), Grant Cummins (Aggie), George Havill, Leonard Want, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bessie was predeceased by her parents, William and Grace Cook, brother, Gerald and his wife Carmen, sisters, Rhonda Havill, Rowena Want, infant sister Patricia Cook and her mother and father-in-law Vera and Seth Cummins. All who knew Bessie will miss her worm heart, pleasant nature and wonderful sense of humour. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Bessie Cummins will be held Monday, March 31, 2008 at 1:00 pm. from the Innisfail United Church,4720 48 Ave., Innisfail with Reverend Margaret Lange officiating and with a family interment at the Innisfail Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Suite 104-10335-172 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5S 1K9 or Palliative Care Unit, Innisfail Health Care Center.
