Cynthia BALLANTYNE

BALLANTYNE Cynthia Barbara Ballantyne of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on February 15, 2007 at the age of 72 years. Cynthia was born in Montreal on April 19, 1934. Soon after she moved to England, it was in Cynthia's teen years when she moved back to Montreal, then eventually settling in Vancouver where Cynthia met Thomas. They were married on June 28, 1956, and soon after started a family. In 1974 they moved to Nelson, British Columbia where they raised their family and enjoyed all that the West Kootneys had to offer. She was actively involved in the Lions Club for many years. Cynthia moved to Red Deer three years ago to be closer to her children and their families. Her heart will always be in Nelson the "Queen City of the Kootneys", where she still has many friends. Cynthia had a passion for traveling and had visited far too many places to mention. She has now ended one journey and has embarked for her final destination. She will always be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. Cynthia will be lovingly remembered by two sons; Ian Ballantyne of Caroline and Mark (Kim) Ballantyne of Blackfalds, one daughter, Heather Jordan of Red Deer and eight grandchildren; Sheena, Travis, Cameron, Sean, Aaron, Logan, Broady, and Skya. Cynthia will once again be reunited with her husband Thomas who passed away on July 27, 1993. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m at Davenport Place Community Center (2318 Danielle Drive). Also, a Memorial Service will be held in Nelson, British Columbia in the summer of 2007.
