DANYLUK 1923 - 2008 Eva Mary Danyluk of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Center on Monday, July 14, 2008, having just celebrated her 85 birthday with her family. Eva was born June 19, 1923 in Rudenko Lache, Poland where she lived until she immigrated to Canada in 1928. As the only daughter of a railroad family she lived in many small communities in Alberta, spending the best part of her childhood in Youngstown. Eva married her husband in Calgary in 1946 and then moved to Red Deer in the same year. Eva was involved as a parent, mother and proud cheerleader in all the things which small town Red Deer offered. Eva enjoyed traveling but was always glad to be home, she was a proud Albertan. Eva was very active and received many service awards as a volunteer with the community agencies; David Thompson Health Region volunteers, the Golden Circle Hoe Downers and the Royal Canadian Legion. Eva loved to play Scrabble, which she could play in two languages and engineering. In 1998 Eva along with playing partner Ardeth Hughes, represented Western Canada at the Canadian Legion Cribbage Play Downs. Eva is survived by her son Lester (Lynn) Danyluk of Red Deer and daughter Laura Gauthier of Edmonton, grandchildren Zachary Danyluk of Vernon, BC, Jillian Danyluk of Red Deer and Andrew (Jaelyn) Gauthier of Sherwood Park. Eva was predeceased by her husband Alex in 1988. A Funeral Service will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2 on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. A private family internment will be held at Alto Reste Cemetery.
