GABERT Denis Donald Gabert was born February 21, 1934 in Castor, Alberta. He was the eldest son of Hazel and Donald Gabert; brother to Gordon, Ray, Ellen and Larry. Denis received his early years of schooling in Castor. Upon his graduation from high school, Denis attended SAIT to take an electrical apprenticeship. During his apprenticeship in Castor, Denis met Elenore Becker. Denis and Elenore were wed on August 13, 1955. On year later, Denis became employed with B/A and then with Gulf Oil Canada for 39 years. Denis and Elenore were blessed with three children Mark, Karen Alyce and Carla. In 1976, the family moved from Stettler to Three Hills. Soon after Denis’ retirement in 1993, Denis and Elenore moved to Red Deer, and then later back to Stettler. Throughout the years, in various churches and communities, Denis was known for his love for Christ and his obedience to God. He was known in his workplace for his steadfast resolve to conduct business with honesty and integrity. He was an example to all those he came in contact with. Denis will be lovingly missed by his wife Elenore; his children Mark (Karen) Gabert, Karen Alyce Hunsperger, Carla (Gerald) Mills; his grandchildren Logan and Landon Gabert, Tara, Adam and Tyler Hunsperger, Cody and Brandon Mills; brothers Ray (Elaine) Gabert and Larry Gabert; sister Ellen (Leo) Marcil; sister-in-law Helen (Gordon) Gabert. Denis was predeceased by his parents Donald and Hazel Gabert and brother Gordon Gabert who welcomed him into heaven. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stettler Community Centre. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Gideons Bible Society, Alberta Cancer Foundation or Rocky Mountain Bible College.
