Dick SYMONS

SYMONS Dick Neal Symons passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on July 31, 2007 at the age of 72 years. Dick was born on the family farm in the Ridgewood District on January 22, 1935. It was in Calgary that Dick met his future wife, Ruby, and were united in marriage in 1955. Dick and Ruby lived in numerous small towns before settling in Red Deer and later moving to the family farm in the Ridgewood District just west of Red Deer. Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dick was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Ruby Joyce in 1998. Dick is survived by his five children and their families; Neal and Nancy Symons (Cole and Cara), Ada and Nat Grossman (Natasha), Beverly and Patrick Moore (Jed, Josie, Oswald), Linda Symons (Joshua, Carl), and Rose and Richard Bauer (Richard, Nicholas, Amelia (Bruce) son, Colbie). He is also survived by one sister, Beryl Albert (Sandy) of Sudbury, Ontario, one brother-in-law, Art Schmunk (Audrey) and family of Calgary, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick is also survived by his very special companion and friend, Vicki Anderson (and family) of Sylvan Lake. Dick was predeceased by his mother and father, William and Vera, and numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-law, and cousins. Dick will be greatly missed but will live on in his children, grand children, and great grand-child's memories. Dick will also be remembered for his love of visiting or talking to family, friends, and acquaintances whenever he could. Those wishing to pay their respects can do so at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150-67 Street) on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place.
