DICKINSON (nee Lawrence, Wright) Elizabeth "Marie" Dickinson of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the age of 52 years after a valiant three and a half year struggle with cancer. Marie was born in Red Deer, attended school in Delburne, Calgary and high school in Red Deer. Marie was raised in the Pine Lake area. She was employed in the food service industry throughout Alberta and upon retirement moved to Red Deer and became a marriage commissioner. Marie loved to quilt, stitch and garden. She was an active volunteer in the community and also quite involved in swimming. Marie had a passion for genealogy; she was the family historian and also served as a volunteer on several archive committees. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband David "Dave" Dickinson; four stepchildren: Criss Hennessey, Don (Jennifer) Dickinson, Trish (Bill) Henry, Jo-Ann (Harry Siewert) Dickinson; ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. To cherish her memory are her parents: Frieda (Norris) Bragg of Ponoka, and Dan (Phyllis) Lawrence of Red Deer; brother, David (Karen) Lawrence of Red Deer, AB; special niece and nephew Carla and Ryan Lawrence as well as numerous aunts, uncles and a large extended family. A Celebration Of Marie's Life will be held in the "Marquis" Room of the Harvest Centre at Westerner Park, 4847A - 19 Street, Red Deer, AB on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Those who knew and loved Marie are invited to share a memory or personal reflection of Marie at the Celebration of her life. Marie also loved flowers; friends wishing to leave a physical tribute to Marie are encouraged to bring a long stemmed rose to the celebration of her life. They will be accepted in her memory.
