Dorothy LOWIS

LOWIS Dorothy (Dode) Dode, beloved wife of Joe, passed away at the Lacombe Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Born in Colhome, near Cereal, Dode spent her childhood on the homestead and farms at St. Albert and South Edmonton. In 1937 she and her family moved to South Wales. Dode spent the war years in Basingstoke making airplane instruments. In 1945 she married Joe and returned to Canada in 1946 as a war bride. She and Joe farmed east of Lacombe for a few years and then bought a farm at PoplarRidge in 1948. They farmed there until 1985 when they retired to Red Deer. In 2004 they moved to Lacombe. She is survived by her loving husband Joe, daughters Rhonda (Don) and Glenda (Bruce), grandchildren Meredith, Robyn, Erin and Sean, Also sister Etta Evans in England. A celebration of Life for Dode will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church Lacombe on Monday June 25th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery.
