Doug CROWE

CROWE, Doug Mr. Douglas Leo (Doug Crowe), beloved husband of Mrs. Florence Crowe of Red Deer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Doug was born on September 18, 1930 at Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, colleague and trusted friend. His strength and dedication to his family won their love, admiration and respect. Other than time spent with his family, Doug's varied interests over the years included piloting his own plane, playing bridge competitively and some enjoyable hunting and fishing excursions. Doug was also highly committed to his career throughout his lifetime. From 1955 until 1979, he practiced law with the firm formerly known as Holmes, Crowe, Power and Company in Red Deer. From 1979 until 2000, Doug served as a Judge of the Provincial Court of Alberta and was appointed an Assistant Chief Judge in 1984. He will be sadly and deeply missed but lovingly remembered and his memory forever cherished in the hearts of his family and many dear friends. Doug leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of 52 years, Florence, his 8 children; Lloyd (Lyn) Crowe of Edmonton, Pat (Jack) Rosene-Brady of Red Deer, Don Crowe of Victoria, British Columbia, Marilyn (Brian) St. Germain of Red Deer, Laurie (Dennis) Duncan of Bentley, Carol Sipos of Barrie, Ontario, Stan Crowe of Red Deer and Gary (Elise) Crowe of Iqaluit, Nunavut and his 23 grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Rita (Doug) Barnett of Edmonton, his sisters-in-law, Pauline Crowe and Dodie Stocks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his parents, John and Ruby Crowe, brothers, Ken and George Crowe and an infant brother, Lloyd Crowe. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Joseph Dephoff, S.A.C. celebrant. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
