NYCHOLAT, Douglas James 1959 - 2006 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas James "Doug" Nycholat at Tucson, Arizona, United States on Friday, March 31, 2006 at the age of 46 years. Doug was born on May 1, 1959 at Rose Valley, Saskatchewan to Jim and Molly Nycholat. A greatly spiritual and caring person, Doug had the gift of reaching people. He was someone who truly cared and genuinely made a difference in so many people's lives. After spending some time talking with Doug you walked away feeling cared about and lighter in spirit. Doug was employed as a travel nurse at the time of his death. He received his B.S.N. at the University of Alberta in 1994, in addition to earning a B.A. in Psychology at the U of A. Doug loved life and spread his kindness and love to all the lives he touched. He was a dedicated nurse and worked at various jobs in Saskatoon, Edmonton and Red Deer. Our dear and loving son, brother, uncle and friend will be greatly missed by his family and countless friends in Canada and throughout the U.S.A. Doug leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Molly, his sister, Marie (Leo) Leonard and their children, Terry (Rochelle) Leonard, Donna (Ken) Annett, Karen (Darcy) Gabert, all of Red Deer and Bob (Karry) Leonard of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Doug's sister, Marge Nycholat and her children, Bridgette (Dean) Duniece, also all of Red Deer and Dennie (Cindy) Girard of Calgary, Alberta, his brother, Don (Carol) Nycholat of Lacombe, Alberta and their children, Lindsey and Desiree. He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Doug was predeceased by his father, Jim Nycholat in 1977. A Public Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Doug's honour may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 101, 5208 - 53rd Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5K2.
