Dwain MCCLAFLIN

MCCLAFLIN Dwain Merl McClaflin of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the age of 55 years after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Dwain was born in Hythe, Alberta on July 15, 1951. His childhood was spent in Hythe and Calgary. Holidays took place with cousins in the mountains, at Sylvan Lake and at his grandparents' farm. Dwain graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Commerce in 1975. Most of his career life was spent in the service of Canada Post in Red Deer. In the 1980's he became an Uncle and for the next twenty-five years he was known affectionately as "Unc". He became the outdoor education leader, teacher and mentor for his two nieces; Cassandra and Elissa and his two nephews; Rory and Patrick. He was held in high regard by his brother-in-law, John. Dwain will be lovingly remembered by his parents; Doreen and Gordon McClaflin and his sister, Diane McClaflin. A Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with Father Paul Kavanagh officiating.
