Edith SILK

SILK, Edith Leona Silk of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Edith was born on June 22, 1919 at Drumheller, Alberta, the daughter of Dell Luman Price and Etnie Elizabeth Crocker. She was raised and grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia. Edith went on to receive her teaching degree and taught in Alberta at Niton Junction, Evansberg and Lake Isle and then at Mountview School and Central Elementary School in Red Deer. She was a member of the United Church for many years and an active member of C.A.R.T.A. Edith will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Edith leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children, Joyce Braden (nee Comeau), Betty Riehl, Dell (George Silk) Price, Richard Silk and Robert Charles Silk, all of Red Deer and Nancy Silk of Haynes Junction, Yukon, her grandchildren, Lincoln Silk, Kurt Silk, Hazel Tovell, Peter Comeau, April Dueck, Richard Riehl, Jennifer Silk, Patricia Silk, Timothy Silk, Levi Marshall, Bobi-Lisa Pastershank, Joshua Marshall and Jeffry Cunningham and her great grandchildren, Kristi, Keri, J.D., Brennen, Zoe, Hudson and Gage. Edith was predeceased by a son, Gordon Silk and sisters, Letty Giacomuzi, May Price and Nellie Stockford. All are welcome to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Life Celebration. Please join us in the Celebration and Remembrance of the Life of Edith Silk at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Reception arrangements will be announced at the Life Celebration. For future viewing, Edith’s ashes will be resting in the Safekeeping Room upstairs at Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer for anyone who wishes to come and visit her or pay their respects.
