Edward TENNANT

TENNANT Edward Francis, beloved father and grandfather passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on September 13, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Edward is survived by a stepdaughter, Faye (Duncan) Chester of Burlington Ontario as well as his grandchildren Larry, Robert, Curtis, Scott, Shirley, Juanita, Brian, Christine and Donna as well as numerous great grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by his loving wife, Audrey, his brother, Robert, as well as his son, Douglas and granddaughter, Carol. Edward was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick where he worked until active service with the Royal Canadian Artillery from 1939 until is discharge in 1945. After a short period working with his father Harry for CN Rail, Edward and Audrey moved to Calgary Alberta in 1952 where they would reside until his retirement. Edward was employed by ET Marshall later the Hudson Bay Company as a sales representative and during the course of his life he made numerous friends and lasting impressions due to his gentlemanly qualities. Edward was a long time member of the IOOF St George Chapter as well as the Fairview Baptist Church while he resided in Calgary. After the death of his wife, Edward moved to Didsbury, then Red Deer Alberta to reside with family until his unfortunate passing. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the nurses and staff of unit 31 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their kindness and care during Edwards illness. At request, a private family only graveside service will be held on September 23, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Calgary. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Edward's name directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
