LAYDEN Eileen Ellen 1932 - 2008 Eileen passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years after a short encounter with cancer. She was predeceased by 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and is survived by one older brother Guy Moench; her loving husband Lyle; son Terry and her 4 grandchildren Chelsea Power (Johnnie) of Lethbridge, Jenna Horner (Jason) of Banff, Ryley of Minneapolis and Mitchell of Calgary. Eileen embraced life, met challenges head-on and always had a smile on her face. Eileen was born in Hanna and was raised on the Alberta prairies. She married Lyle Layden in 1951 and they were dedicated to each other for 57 years. Rocky Mountain House became home in 1956 and she resided there until her passing. Eileen grew up in the 'olden days' and carried the work ethics of that era through to the end of her life. She was a gardener and canner, crocheter and knitter, a nurse and caregiver, a composter and recycler, a bowler, golfer and curler, friend and soul-mate and took great pride in her clean house and neat yard. Eileen led a very full and balanced life, hard at work and hard at play. She will be missed by many, but not forgotten. A Celebration of Eileen's Life will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, Rocky Mountain House on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law officiating.
