Elsie EARL

EARL, Elsie Elsie Mary Earl passed away peacefully on September 11, 2004 at the Olds Community Care at the age of 84 years. Elsie was born at Vermillion, Alberta on November 5, 1919. She grew up on the family farm at Duff, Saskatchewan. She graduated from grade 12 in June 1937 and continued her education at Normal School and graduated in the spring of 1938 as a schoolteacher and taught her first school in the Lorlie, Saskatchewan area. She continued her teaching career for the next 3 years. Elsie journeyed to Eastern Canada and was trained as a government inspector and her first job was as a inspector for the 40 mm anti-aircraft guns at a factory in Hamilton. After the war, Elsie took up teaching at Redvers and Waldron, Saskatchewan. She then met the apple of her eye, William Henry Earl and was married on September 5, 1947. Elsie is survived by her loving husband William Henry Earl, two children Brian William (Gayle) and Linda Darlene (Don); two grandchildren Darrin William and Kaja Paulina and one great granddaughter Tatjana; and sister-in-law Kay Haylock. A Service of Remembrance will be held from the Memorial Presbyterian Church, Sylvan Lake on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Edith Sandusky officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Mary‚s and Saint Timothy's Anglican Church, Sylvan Lake or to the charity of the donor's choice.
