BRILZ Emma Brilz 1920-2007 Emma Brilz of Oliver, B.C., formerly of Red Deer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the age of 87 years at the Kelowna Hospital, B.C. Emma will be forever loved and sadly missed by her family. Emma was born on Thursday, April 1, 1920 to Joseph and Rose Metz on their farm near Richmound, Saskatchewan. Emma was the third eldest of nine children. Emma married Christian Brilz on June 18, 1940. Together they raised five children living in Richmound, operating a farm and Chris working for the C.P.R. railway. They retired from the CPR and farming and spent several years managing apartments until they retired to Red Deer. Chris and Emma enjoyed cards and spent many evenings playing Hand & Foot with friends and relatives. Emma will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and four sons and their families; Doris (Phil) Dietz of Castor, Ron (Joy) Brilz of Airdrie, Garry Brilz of Edmonton, Doug (Judy) Brilz of Stettler, and Gordon Brilz & David Hinton of Oliver B.C. She will be missed by her 20 grandchildren, her 30 great grand- children, by her 5 brothers and 1 sister, Felix (Audrey) Metz, Peter (Betty) Metz, David Metz, Carl (Joan) Metz, Rudy (Selsie) Metz, and Joey Mann, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her Parents, her Husband Chris, Daughter-in-Law, Judy Brilz, Grandson Craig Brilz, and Brother Frank Metz. Funeral prayers will be held Friday June 8, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church 4304 49th Ave. Innisfail. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Chapel, 4304 - 49th Avenue, Innisfail AB. on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. Lunch to follow mass with the interment will take at Saturday June 9, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Alto Reste Memorial Gardens, Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to; METCALF FUNERAL CHAPEL 4200 49th. Ave., Innisfail. Phone 227-3123.
