DUECK, Estelle Hanna Marie It is with deep sorrow and fond memories that we say farewell to Estelle Dueck, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Estelle is survived by Bert Dueck, her loving husband of fifty-nine years, two sons: Herb (Sheila) from Red Deer, Rock (Deborah) from Calgary, two sisters: Norma Binns from Saskatoon, SK and Gloria Currie from Saskatoon, SK. Her memory will also be cherished by her brother, Floyd Rankel from St. Catharines, ON as well as by her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Estelle was predeceased by her parents Ruby and Ole Rankel, her brother George Rankel, sister Marjorie Weir, sister in-law Catherine Rankle, and her brothers in-law: Moe Binns, Ted Weir, Jack Muzzy and Jack Currie. Estelle was born in La Flesche, SK and was raised in Meadowlake, SK. She was married in 1947 before moving to Red Deer in 1961. Estelle proudly managed two hotels and a ladies wear store until retiring in 1995. After retirement, she remained ever industrious, serving as an active volunteer for the Cancer Society and the school lunch program. Estelle was loving and generous; she was a selfless mother who cherished her family. She loved to read and often baked in her spare time. She was an avid animal lover who cared especially for dogs. After becoming unable to attend church, Estelle became devoted to watching her Sunday morning service with "Pastor Mark". A Celebration of Life for the Late Mrs. Estelle Dueck will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, March 10th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations in memory of Estelle Dueck may be directed to Loaves and Fishes, 6002 - 54 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4M8, or the Gimbel Eye Center, #450, 4935 - 40 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T3A 2N1.
