FREEMAN Eunice Grace 1918 - 2007 Eunice Grace Freeman of Calgary passed away, after a short illness, on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the age of 89 years Born in Knee Hill Valley, AB. on May 7, 1918 to David James and Maybelle Guard, Eunice is survived by her sons, Devery, David (Kevin) and Jack (Bonnie); five grandchildren, Stacey, Jill, Jaime, Brian, and Robbie; ten great-grandchildren; and by a special friend, Sheila Maxwell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon and Stanley Guard; and sisters, Estelle Kirkham and Lucille Branson. She was also predeceased by her husband, Stanley in 1997 after fifty-seven years of marriage. Eunice moved from the family home in Innisfail to live in Calgary eight years ago. Over the years Eunice worked as a waitress, a telephone operator during the war and owned her own restaurant in Innisfail while Stan was in the army. In later years she worked with Stan in the family business, Freeman Insurance Agencies. Eunice was known for her famous pies and best-ever home cooking! She was known as Mrs. Meticulous as she always said “if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing well.” Eunice loved all animals and had many dogs and cats as part of her life.
