GRANT Evelyn Blanche 1915 – 2008 Evelyn Blanche passed away December 26th, 2008 at Rosefield Center, Innisfail. She is survived by her children; Caroline (Victor) Runge, Innisfail, Isabelle (David) Priest, Airdrie, Flora (Clem) Deodora, Red Deer, Dale (Jan), Kingaroy, QLD, Aust, Margaret (Don) Dupuis, Saskatoon, SK, Connie Widdows, Dysart, SK, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Her half sister; Emeline (Grant) Reist, half brother; Wil (Nel) Metcalf, step sister; Treva (George) Zieber, sisters in law; Jean Metcalf and Dorothy Tingley. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband; John in 1991, her parents; Tom and Edith Metcalf, stepmother; Ivah Metcalf, brother; Basil, half brother; Alex, step brothers; George and Clark Tingley. Evelyn was born May 22nd, 1915 in Red Deer and grew up in the Cumberland district at Delburne. On Dec. 24, 1935 she married John who came from Portsoy, Scotland. She loved her family, singing, sewing, crafts, and travelling, including two trips to Scotland, one to Australia. A highlight of Evelyn's life was becoming a Certified Nurses Aid in her early 50's. Interment at the Delburne Cemetery at 11:00 am. on December 30th. With a memorial service at 2:00 pm. at the Innisfail United Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rosefield Center, CI Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society.
