JACKSON Evelyn Jackson, a long time resident of the Delburne area passed away peacefully at the Stettler Nursing Home on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the age of 88 years after a courageous battle with heart disease. She leaves to mourn three sons - Mahlon (Shirley) Jackson of Delburne, Don (Pat) Jackson and Frank (Deb) Jackson, all of Lousana; one daughter, Betty Jean (Ian) Mose of Stettler; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters - Liz Siddaway of Perth, Australia, Doris Traynor of Sidney, B.C. and Madge (Ken) Roberts of Ormskirk, England. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband LaRue in May of 1992, her eldest son, Lawrence in January of 2002, and daughter-in-law Jean in July 1994. Evelyn was born July 11, 1918 in Manchester, England. She served in WWII with the Auxiliary Territorial Services as a spotter and a telephonist. She immigrated to Canada in 1946 as a war bride. She and Larue settled in the Delburne area where they farmed until 1974 when they retired to Vancouver Island. Evelyn returned to Delburne in November 2001 to be closer with her ever growing family. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 7th, 2007, in the Delburne Community Hall, Delburne, AB.
